Description
If there is unread PM notice visible, going to User CP > Edit Options and updating them (even without making any changes, but just by pressing Update Options button) will make it go away.

I can reproduce on the comm. forums, the option to show the message was ticked when I saved but it still went. I can't even get it to come back now, if I turn off the setting, and save, turn it on again, and save, it still doesn't show.

This reason is because the user update datahandler resets the unreadpm # in the database i believe.
