Description
For highly active servers, apache calls to many image files can generate a decent amount of the overall load. The ability to have theme images link to an external server would allow for the opportunity to have more load-balancing on servers and thus less stress (load) on a single server.

Exactly the same place it is now, the image directory in the theme settings, you just give it an absolute (http://...) URL instead of a relative one.
